Electroplating and High-Quality Surface Finishing

In 1916, a watchmaking factory called Dorage A Ludi Argentage operated at Weidstrasse 14.

After its closure, Mr. Nicola Padrun purchased the building in 1971 and founded the electroplating company Paka Padrun AG. The name “Paka” originated from a combination of the names Padrun and Kaufmann, and was retained out of respect for Mr. Nicola Padrun.

In spring 1998, Mr. Walter Hänni acquired the company, which was renamed Paka Hänni AG. He steered the business toward medical technology and used his deep expertise to support well-known medical companies.

Since 2025, Daniel Hänni and Patrick Zbinden have been running this family business. Both come from families with a background in electroplating and are committed to developing and preserving the knowledge and spirit that define Paka Hänni AG.

For over 100 years, Paka Hänni AG has stood for quality and reliability in surface treatment as a traditional Swiss company. With years of experience, innovation, and ongoing development, the company has built a reputation beyond its industry.

Customer Proximity

We work closely with our customers in the development of prototypes and contribute to surface treatment and material selection. For us, it goes without saying to handle even very small production runs in order to move from prototype to serial production.

Our Specialty:

We specialize in everything related to titanium and chrome-nickel stainless steel. We particularly highlight our expertise in medical and dental applications (implants). In addition, we regularly serve the optics, chemical, machinery and equipment, aerospace, and food industries.

Smoothness, microscopic uniformity, high passivity, and low potential energy lead to a drastic reduction in deposit formation. This enables thorough and residue-free cleaning—an essential requirement for solving disinfection and decontamination challenges.
